It is important to use a lubricant while clay barring to ensure that the clay glides across the surface of the paint, as easily as possible, reducing the risk of causing any marring.

Divide the clay bar into thirds and you should be able to get around 3+ uses out of each third (one use being an entire vehicle).
This is based on an average daily driver vehicle that is decontaminated once or twice a year.

You do not need to use a Clay Bar if your vehicle has been ceramic coated. The contaminates will not be able to bond to the paintwork properly so should come off with a good wash!

The amount that you need to use, will vary on the size of the area you're working on.

The key is to ensure that you feel no resistance between the clay bar and the paintwork.

You will need to apply more Glide as you go, so that the area stays lubricated.
