With its advanced pH-neutral formula, this intensive iron contaminant and fallout remover safely and effectively eliminates tiny particles of ferrous shrapnel that can embed into nearly any surface. The targeted solution dissolves these iron particles, helping to prevent significant damage to your vehicle.

Auto Finesse Iron Out should be used as part of a multi-stage decontamination process (prior to clay barring). For daily-driven vehicles, this process is recommended at least twice a year—before and after winter—before applying a wax or paint sealant, or before any polishing. If you're unsure whether your car has iron contamination, spray Iron Out onto a yellow foam pad and apply it to a small area of the paint or wheels. If red or purple bleeding appears, this indicates a chemical reaction with the iron contaminants, temporarily highlighting them as they dissolve. Regular use of Iron Out also helps prevent paint corrosion.

So, how is it used?

After completing the cleaning stages, you’re ready to move on to decontamination. Ensure the vehicle is fully clean but still wet, then spray Iron Out contaminant remover across the surface. You’ll see the chemical reaction in action. If needed, gently agitate with a foam applicator, taking care to avoid excessive scrubbing. For heavy iron fallout, such as metal filings on the paintwork, you'll notice the purple or red "bleeding" reaction. Since metal filings can cause swirl marks if moved around, thoroughly rinse the vehicle with a jet wash after application. Work from top to bottom, and repeat if necessary before proceeding to the clay bar stage.

There are a couple of ways to use Iron Out contaminant remover on wheels. It can be applied as the first stage (before snow-foaming the entire vehicle). Like a pre-wash, spray Iron Out onto all four wheels, wait for the bleeding reaction, then rinse each wheel in sequence. Follow this with a complete snow foam. Alternatively, you can use Iron Out after washing the wheels to target more localized contamination. For the first application, avoid agitation—allow the snow foam to remove any loose particles. For the second round, you may lightly agitate with a foam applicator pad. Ensure that both the inner barrel and the face of the wheel are coated during each stage.

If Iron Out is left on too long, it may start to appear white and cloudy. To reactivate it, simply add more product or lightly mist the area with a jet wash from a distance to keep a wet film. Remember, Iron Out and ObliTARate are different stages of detailing: Iron Out dissolves metal particles, while ObliTARate targets tar spots. For polished wheels, such as chrome or diamond-cut, we recommend using our Revolution product. Avoid using Iron Out in direct sunlight or at temperatures below 32°F/0°C, and always apply it in a well-ventilated area.
